This interview was done over email around april, '96 with one of the greatest bands to come out of the Chicago-area punk scene in a long time, Oblivion. not to be confused with the Obilivians of course.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON THE GREATER CHICAGO PUNK SCENE THESE DAYS?
brian- I think there is a lack of hardcore and good ole' punk rock bands around. And maybe I am not contributing to much of that with the style of music oblivion plays, but I'd like to see a better "scene" feeling. There are lots of kids and they seem to support the local and known out of state bands pretty well. The venues are decent and the bookers are good. We have a really nice scene. I hope the youngsters appreciate what us old people had to go through. I appreciate the generation before me, and try to help out as much as I can when I am in town.

WHAT IS THE BEST SLAYER ALBUM?
pete- reign in blood.
brian- reign in blood and south of heaven.
scott- i don't own any slayer i am a wuss.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 2 YEARS, 4 MONTHS AND 16 DAYS?
well that's 1998 may 16th.
pete- on tour starving.
brian- at my girlfriends starving.
scott- at home listening to the Who.

WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?
pete- cause it is.
brian- when i see it it's black.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PEZ DISPENSER?
pete- a penis one.
brian- foozy the bear
scott- the groucho marx one

1= first sexual experience?
STILL WAITING FOR THE RIGHT GIRL.

RIGHT NOW I WILL HAVE TO GO WITH JAWBREAKER "CHESTERFIELD KINGS"

WELL, IT IS RATHER RARE ON FARMS, BUT IT IS ON SOME, SO I WILL HAVE TO GO WITH THE EXPECTED ANSWER OF THE WOMBAT.

SO WHO IS THIS JOHANN FELLOW AND WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT HIS FACE?brian- well johann is Johann sabastian Bach. A classical composer. He gives great face.

WHAT IS LOVE?
pete- a swallow
brian- a stomach ache!
scott- my right hand and Pete Townshend.

SO WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOU AND THE BOLLWEEVILS?
pete- I never was in the band.
brian-well they are coming to the end of their career its better to burn out than fade away like screeching weasel did- but anyway they wanted a guy who could play all the time until the end. They might tour this spring. I wasn't happy with being released, but I still talk to them. Punk rock bickering is stupid, so I don't partake in it.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ALL OF THE MEDIA HYPE AND ATTENTION ON PUNK ROCK? WILL YOU EVER SIGN TO A MAJOR?
pete- is punk big now?
brian- It all is going away. I don't really see us on a major because they are owned by people that we don't want to let those type of people make money off of our music.scott- i am not that punk but i think majors are a bad business deal for punk and underground bands.

WHERE IS THE PUNK-ROCK FOR THAT MATTER?
pete- in cleveland.
brian - in texas.
scott- i don't know?

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
pete- driving around, working for underdog records, and jerking off. brian- collecting Devo stuff, D.J.ing at local clubs, and dressing up in panties. scott- i like old movies, writing bad songs, and jerking pete off.

SKEE-BALL OR FOOSE-BALL AND WHY?
pete- skee ball cause bigger balls.
brian-they are equally fun.
scott- foose ball cause they got little pants on.

DAVID LEE ROTH ERA VAN HALEN OR SAMMY HAGAR ERA?
Oblivion- we like David Lee Roth.

WHO'D WIN IN A FIGHT, TWISTED SISTER OR RATT?
pete and brian - twisted sister cause dee Snider is a M.F!
scott- Ratt cause they would go Round and Round.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST PIECE OF MUSIC YOU BOUGHT?
pete- the beatles.
brian - Rush 2112.
scott- the Who's Tommy.

IS THERE A GOD(S)?
Oblivion- there are gods and Kiss are there names.

WHAT DO YOU WANT ON YOUR GRAVESTONE?
pete- don't bother me, i am jerking off.
brian- this space for rent
scott- here lies a wuss.
